Founded on October 15, 2015, by Brandon Eaton and Sean Eighmey, the company specializes in baseball and softball equipment while also providing custom uniforms for multiple team sports. From its headquarters in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Stinger Sports continues to expand by aligning product development with efficient operations and long term partnerships.

The company began in Corning, New York, where Eaton and Eighmey launched Stinger Sports with a focused goal. Both founders were former players who understood the challenges faced by youth and amateur athletes when equipment costs rise faster than participation budgets. Their early work centered on premium wood baseball bats designed with player input. Instead of relying on trends or heavy branding, they concentrated on construction quality, balance, and durability. This early discipline helped shape the company’s approach to both product design and operations.

In its initial years, Stinger Sports operated with a lean structure that emphasized direct communication with teams and players. Products were refined through real world use, and feedback loops were short and practical. This allowed the company to improve performance without unnecessary complexity. As relationships with travel programs and youth organizations grew, Stinger Sports developed a reputation for reliability and value, which supported steady organic growth.

As product demand increased, the company expanded its manufacturing focus beyond wood bats. Metal bats, batting gloves, fielding gloves, protective equipment, bat grips, and accessories were added over time. Each expansion required adjustments in sourcing, inventory management, and quality control. Rather than scaling too quickly, Stinger Sports focused on operational consistency, ensuring that new products met the same standards that defined its original offerings.

A major operational milestone came with the development of Secure Seam Technology for batting gloves. This patent pending design addressed one of the most common failure points in traditional gloves by reinforcing the area that experiences the most stress. The seamless construction improved durability while maintaining flexibility and feel. The technology gained national recognition at the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, where it received the Best of Show Award as recognized by Collegiate Baseball. The recognition validated both the product innovation and the company’s disciplined development process.

Parallel to equipment growth, Stinger Sports expanded its custom uniform and team apparel operations. What began as a service for baseball and softball organizations evolved into a multi sport offering that includes football, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and volleyball. Supporting these programs required building systems for design coordination, material selection, and program based ordering. By investing in these operational capabilities, the company strengthened its ability to serve organizations of varying sizes while maintaining consistency and turnaround reliability.

In early 2021, Stinger Sports officially based its operations in Rock Hill, South Carolina, following a period of remote management. Founder and chief executive officer Brandon Eaton had relocated to the region earlier while continuing to oversee strategic growth. Establishing a centralized operational base allowed the company to streamline logistics, improve communication, and support expanding partnerships throughout the Southeast and beyond.

The company’s operational growth reached another key milestone in 2024 when Eaton completed the purchase of a 16,000-square-foot facility located at 108 Spratt Street in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The building, which previously served as a retail showroom, was repurposed to support warehousing, expanded operations, and team partnerships. The facility also functions as a training site through a partnership with Legacy Baseball, a Fort Mill based travel baseball organization. This arrangement reflects the company’s emphasis on staying closely connected to athletes while managing growth responsibly.

Stinger Sports also operates Stingerwoodbats.com, a specialized platform focused on wood and BBCOR certified bats, batting gloves, custom gloves, fungo bats, and personalized equipment options. The site supports both custom made and pro stock products, allowing players to select equipment that fits their level of play and personal preferences. Managing this platform alongside the core brand required operational coordination to ensure consistent quality and fulfillment.

Distribution for Stinger Sports is handled through a mix of direct to consumer online sales, online marketplaces such as Amazon, and structured business to business programs for teams and leagues. Dedicated program sales and customization services support larger orders while maintaining clear communication and delivery standards. This multi channel approach allows the company to reach individual athletes and organizations without compromising service quality.

The company has also built its operational presence through partnerships and sponsorships. These include involvement with the High School Baseball National Championship Series, which is broadcast on ESPN, as well as collaborations with Baseball Youth and Softball Youth organizations. Stinger Sports has served as a gear partner for national baseball events, including College World Series activities at Omaha Baseball Village, reinforcing its visibility within the sport.

Stinger Sports continues to operate with a mission centered on value, durability, and access. By aligning innovation in the field with discipline in the warehouse, the company has created a sustainable growth model that supports athletes and teams alike. Through careful expansion, operational investment, and a commitment to practical performance, Stinger Sports remains focused on building equipment and programs that serve the long term needs of the game.
