Here is explaining the outputs of the plan quality management process and four of them are very important. There are two which are sub plans of the project management plan that is quality
management plan and the process. Improvement of the plan and then there are quality checklists and quality metrics.
So, without further ado let’s get into it. So, if you’ve forgotten, where is this planned quality management in the whole scheme of things. The project quality management knowledge area. we are talking about the planning process group and there’s only one process in this mapping
in this matrix and that is the planned quality management. In those processes in the planning processes group the major output of this process is also a plan and this plan is known as the quality management.
Concept of the management
Management does not structure politics it only applies the politics placed through by the administrator planning organizing staffing and motivation directing coordination. They control are all the functions of the management. Recommendations for managing property on your development the guidelines being the key word here so just like other sub projects management plan.
Your project management plan is basically a combination of several sub plans quality management strategy is one of those sub plans and all these sub plans.
Importance of management
Quality management plan the strategies mentioned in this sub plan are for checking the project value right now even the rational for all the quality linked.
Here steps existence taken are involved in the strategy so why are you taking a certain step or why are you following a certain strategy why is there specific quality guideline for this project their reasoning for it is also mentioned in the quality management plan this way the stakeholders appreciate the rationale overdue the metrics presence used to quantity.
Implementation of quality management effectively and efficiently
Here we explain the finish and help you implement one with you. Now the purpose of the quality policy manual is to set out your intentions in terms of your quality management system.
Standards and Regulations
The planning stages etc. are over in the policy manual. where were planning our setting our
intentions now we’re into the operational stuff according to requirements engineering this is based on software or hardware. We controlling the design how are we communicating that type of thing
procedures will include as I said before document control internal audits training purchasing sales etc.
Quality Management Framework
Quality management framework is based on four concept details are below here.
- Plan (identify your problem)
- Do (Test potential solution)
- Check (depend on study result)
- Act (implement the best solution)
Plan (identify your problem)
Plan process flows and mapping out visually what happens from it for a data set how does it get from collection or creation through processing through curation. Its final resting place whether that’s publication or archival and then how do you how do you catalog. Your data what are the kind of key bits of provenance information that your kind of trying to the address so again it’s linked to where did the data come from how it got to a state that it’s in now.
A little bit about persistent identification and data sets as well but that’s all uh kind of all well and
good if you in isolation but one of the things. We are trying to do is kind of continually come back and assess these things as well and so within the data management quality management framework.
Do (Test potential solution)
To improve our data management processes across the test that’s why we’re sharing it with the network. Some of the work we were doing data management quality management framework are using for test. The framework otherwise we will do into some of these processes. We got in place from these documents and templates. We can share those with you later and go through some examples just to kind of uh show you. We will circulate these slides and that link at the bottom of this slide is a paper. We published on the quality management framework for testing.
Check (depend on study result)
We got this idea of performance evaluations rather than the full-blown of kind of audit to complete since dependent case study. We are kind of aligned with iso 9000 now we haven’t got the full certification yet.
Something we’ll look at over the next few years but again it’s kind of freeing people up to do their jobs as well which this this cartoon alludes to so it’s letting the data specialists do the data management and set the standards for data management and assist with the data management
and then letting the domain specialists.
Act (implement the best solution)
They were looking for the data centers to go through and put in place data management to implement the quality management frameworks based on this kind of plan do check act life cycle and it’s supposed to be a kind of iterative life cycle as well. so, you kind of go through it and you keep going through it so that things don’t end up being static and this was good for us as well. Because part of what we were trying to do in terms of the marine institute’s data strategy to kind of set a bar forum data management quality.
Data management quality management implementation it’s all well and good kind of putting systems in place but if you uh if you make them dead then they’re only as good as the last time. They were updated so really. What we want to introduce today is some of the ways. We have kind of gone about making it make this a live system. The implementing our data management quality management framework and those are going to be the date management plan.
Project quality management plan
Here I am explaining a project quality management with these below three steps:
- Quality planning
- Quality assurance
- Quality control
The most project managers plan to make the best feasible product or assistance, just as the most competent. Quality planning, I thought of clarifying it by putting here once the quality planning is over the quality management plan is ready this quality management plan has things like standards templates policies and procedures and so on to be followed in the project now it’s the aim.
Quality Assurance activities to ensure that what is planned as part of the quality planning gets executed for the project. This is ensured by doing regular project audits to identify deviation from what is planned in the quality management plan these audits are generally done by quality Department of the organizations. Who report to a different boss than the project manager.
what is done as quality control is to measure specific project data to see whether quality indicators are improving or not for example suppose. It was planned as part of the quality management. The project would get completed plus minus 10% within the cost budget three months back when the measurement was done project was over budget by 20% when the measurement was done yesterday it was only 15% over budget so the project showed on an improvement of 5% in the last three months and it’s quite likely that over the next three months project may get within the plan limits of 10% if instead of improvement if the data showed further cost increases then corrective and preventive actions are required to get within the ten percent limit this is quality control.
Quality Planning vs Quality Assurance vs Quality Control
|Quality Planning||Quality Assurance||Quality Control|
|Determine a plan for quality||Determine if the project is match with the organization policies and procedure.||Measure specific project results in opposition to project standard.|
|A major task is preparation of quality management plan.||A major task is conducting a regular projects result.||A major activity is to inspect and confirm the project product, defect repair and measuring.|
