Why HHC Is Becoming More Popular in the UK

Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is becoming more popular in the UK – but the lack of research (it’s relatively new) puts it below THC and CBD on the popularity list. But it’s still becoming more popular. And we’re here to tell you all about it. Read on to learn why it’s becoming more popular in the UK.

The Appeal of HHC

It’s easy to buy HHC products in the UK, so why is it becoming so popular? It has similar effects to CBD and THC, and we all know how popular CBD has become. Here are some of the reasons why some people like the appeal of HHC:

  • Calming Effects: Like CBD, HHC can potentially have a calming effect. Users often can report a significant reduction in anxiety and stress – and we could all use a bit of that, couldn’t we? And some studies suggest it’s not as overwhelming as THC. It can be more soothing.
  • Efficient Absorption: Some studies show HHC has efficient absorption, but that also depends on how you take it. Under the tongue with drops and vaping will make you absorb it quicker.
  • Milder Psychoactive Profile: Unlike THC, which can have crazy potent psychoactive effects, HHC can give you a milder and more manageable experience. Manageable is definitely the right word if you’ve ever been taken by surprise with THC.

The Production Process of HHC

Let’s get down to the science – if you’re interested, anyway. Feel free to skip to the next section. HHC forms thanks to a complicated chemical synthesis pathway that modifies the cannabinoid’s structure and effects. That’s why it’s not as ‘blow your head off’ like THC.

The process involves hydrogenation. It’s a chemical reaction where hydrogen molecules are added to the cannabinoid’s structure. That typically starts with THC or CBD. The hydrogen atoms change the compound’s molecular configuration, and HHC is born.

The hydrogenation process needs specific conditions, including a catalyst. It’s usually a metal such as palladium or nickel. There also needs to be the right environment, like THC.

This chemical alteration significantly impacts the resulting compound’s pharmacological properties. By modifying the molecular structure, hydrogenation alters how HHC interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system. It’s different to THC, and that’s why it feels different to have it.

It’s not something that’s easy to do – it takes someone trained to know how to do it.

Will HHC Become More Popular Than THC?

The intrigue around HHC is undeniable. Will it be as popular as THC? Maybe, with how popular it’s becoming. It’s something new for people to try, and that always seems to become a trend at some point – CBD blew up. Still, it’s a new entrant, and there’s still tons to understand about it. Again, it’s the same with CBD.

HHC’s increase in popularity in the UK shows people want to try something new – it’s becoming not too tricky to find. Its distinctive experience is generating curiosity, and we don’t think it’ll be too long until it’s on the same level of popularity as CBD and THC. Would you try it?
