WEEKEND IDEAS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

There is a place in Poland, similar to the wild corners of Africa, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, penguins and seals, and also many other animals that live in the Afrikarium. There are 19 thematic zones to visit, imitating the most unusual places on the Black Continent! In the Congo Basin, we will see crocodiles and unusual mammals called sirens, and the exhibitions dedicated to the coral reef of the Red Sea and the Tanganyika and Malawi lakes fascinate with the multitude and diversity of creatures living there. If you live in or around Sweden, you can also consider Weekend Herrgård for your weekend trip destination as it is a perfect family weekend resort.

On the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, we will see African penguins, the favorites of children. However, the biggest attraction will probably be a stunning exposition dedicated to the depths of the Mozambique Canal – an eighteen-meter tunnel, thanks to which you can see the world of sharks, dangerous fish and rays!

In Torun, you should definitely visit the local planetarium, where children will discover the world of distant planets and supernovae! For the little ones, two sessions are recommended to awaken their imagination: “A Wonderful Journey” and “Colors of Space”. In the “Orbitarium” children will be able to independently control the model of the Cassini probe, trigger a tornado with their own hands, or learn the secrets of the northern lights!

The Geodium exposition will explain to us why we have four seasons, and after the day comes night. All this on a huge model of the globe! Also, thanks to the rest of the exhibits, children will learn more about the magnetic field, earthquakes, the earth’s atmosphere, and see a collection of meteorites from distant corners of space.

The Copernicus Science Center does not need to be specially presented – nowhere else in Poland can one find so many exhibits for scientific knowledge of the world! Four permanent general exhibitions dedicated to light, physics, the human body, the achievements of civilization will provide a lot of entertainment not only for children.

For the little ones (up to 5 years old), the Bzzz! Exposition was prepared, thanks to which they will learn how the world looks like through the eyes of a snake, what is inside a kaleidoscope or how a fox smells! With the care of older children, the Re: generacja exhibition was developed, through which young people reflect on the riddles of the mind and try to understand their own emotions and relationships with others.

In addition to exhibitions, the program includes theatrical performances in which the main characters are robots, as well as many master classes, shows and laboratory experiments, allowing to expand the knowledge gained by children. However, that’s not all! The Copernicus Science Center also houses the Planetarium, with a wide selection of educational films for children and adults.
