Trimmer and shaver, what is the difference?

Hair trimmers and hair removers are basically divided into two categories: 

1- Electric hair removers 

2- Mechanical hair removers 

What are trimmers?

You can use trimmers to trim your hair, which means to make something neat by cutting away irregular or unwanted parts. Trimmers come with 2 or more sliding blades that do most of the work in trimming. Most of the trimmers you shall come across are small and have a small cutting width, which is great. Because of the small size, trimmers are best known for precise cutting. Trimmers save the day for you when you want to style facial hair, as they are meant to be utilized in myriad ways. What is more exciting, trimmers are not just bound to style your facial hair, they can be used in multiple ways.

Types of Trimmers

This thing can be a bit gnarly and tricky as you have to know your hair texture before you decide something. A trimmer peculiarly designed for the face should only be used on the face, not anywhere else. 

1- Hair Trimmers

The use of hair trimmers is extensive and mainstream as they can easily be used on other parts of the body but it’s not recommended. You can’t afford to be impetuous and reckless when it comes to your hair texture. If you’re using the tool for multiple purposes, it can be extremely damaging. 

2- Beard Trimmers

What does the name say about it? Obviously, they are expressly designed for beards and must be used accordingly. When do you need it? If you ever want to maintain a thick beard, a Viking beard, a stubble. Bring it on and enjoy it. 

It doesn’t end here, beard trimmers can be of different types. Some need to be powered in and some can operate on battery. Similarly, some trimmers have surgical precision and some are just average. Choosing the right tool for your beard can be awkward because if it goes wrong, you can damage your beard. We all know how much we love our beards! 

3- Ear and Nose Trimmers

You must be aware of the fact that the skin inside your nostrils and the skin on your ears are very very sensitive and you should be cautious while removing hair. For this purpose, you need to buy ear and nose hair trimmers because they are designed for this task. 

4- Bikini Trimmers

Don’t go for the name because bikini trimmers are designed for extremely sensitive areas like the groin and underarms. We all know that even a small cut in these areas can leave us sleepless. These trimmers are intended to be marketed majorly to women and there comes the name. Women use these trimmers to prevent any allergic reactions and they are very smooth to deal with/ 

What is a Shaver?

A shaver does the opposite of what a trimmer does. A shaver is used to shave the face and it removes 100% of your facial hair. As far as the blades are concerned, they come in direct contact with your skin. We often hear people complaining about their unsmooth and rough skin because these are the consequences you’d have to face while using a shaver. People can feel the irritation on their skin when they start using it for the first time. 

Furthermore, you can split up shavers into 2 categories; rotatory shavers and foil shavers. Then these types can be further divided into wet and dry shavers. Wet shavers will be used with shaving cream or foam. Dry shavers, on the other hand, have to be used dry. Some people also use flat irons to maintain their beards.
