Reality TV Star Gemma Collins recently revealed that she is planning to wed fiancé Rami Hawash in a very intimate affair at one of London’s swankiest venues, the Dorchester hotel. Gemma, who is best known for starring in The Only Way is Essex from 2011 to 2019 announced her wedding plans after confirming that she was ‘re-engaged’ to Hawash after initially calling it quits in 2014. The couple, who first started dating back in 2011, reunited after Gemma split from beau James Argent in 2020.
It should come as no surprise that the couple decided on Dorchester as their wedding venue. Stylish UK city weddings are all the hype right now and the world-famous hotel which is located on Park Lane is raking in the bookings alongside other urban wedding venues such as theBristol Marriott Royal Hotel and The Royal Horseguards Hotel. Gemma and Rami will have to make some difficult choices when it comes to deciding which room in the hotel will host their wedding. The grand ballroom has been the setting of many of the finest gatherings in the city while the ever-elegant Orchid Room is perfect for a smaller, more intimate wedding.
While the Dorchester is without a doubt a superb venue choice for the glam couple who initially got engaged back in 2013, a quirkier spot would have been a good match, especially when taking the bride-to-be’s larger-than-life personality into consideration. One such venue, which just happens to be among the most popular wedding venues in the UK, is the Hawarden Castle Pavilion in North Wales. The cricket pavilion, which dates back to the 1920s, overlooks a glorious cricket pitch that is perfect for pitching a marquee or series of tents. In addition to a tantalizing wedding menu, the venue can even provide as many as 140 canvas bell tents complete with comfy camp beds for wedding guests who want to spend the night.
In an interview with The Times, Gemma disclosed how, while she was discussing her big day with her mother, she came to the realization that she did not care for too much fuss on the day. She reiterated this by musing: “Get a nice room there, Mum and Dad, stay there, my brother, his wife and two children.” If her heart was not set on the Dorchester, The Ned might very well have become her and Rami’s wedding venue of choice. Situated in the heart of London, the Ned features Grade I-listed rooms, as many as six private rooms, a Princess Dome, and two breath-taking terraces. The Ned can accommodate up to 120 guests and boasts impressive views of the city and St Paul’s Cathedral.
The UK is home to a large number of exquisite wedding venues to suit every possible taste. Whether you want a large, swanky wedding or prefer a more intimate gathering like Gemma Collins, you can rest assured that you will find a venue that will take your breath away.
