Paper Straws Environmental Impact

When the energy crisis swept the whole earth, the impact of the whole environment, you still do not know what you can do for yourself? There is only one Earth, as a member of the Earth, as long as you are willing to take a small step, the Earth will take a big step.

Maybe we can’t delve into the field of environmental science now, maybe we can’t make core statements about global warming and sea level rise yet, but let’s start from what we do around us! Conserve a drop of water, save a single electricity, plant more trees, cut down a piece of forest, resist harmful products, support green products, let our green footprints spread all over the planet, and save the big earth with our small actions! The world will also become a better place because of our efforts.

Information shows that a battery rotten in the ground can make 1 square meter of soil permanently lose its use value; a button battery can make 600 tons of water contaminated, equivalent to a person’s lifetime of drinking water. Among several substances that pose the greatest threat to the natural environment, batteries contain mercury, lead, cadmium and many others. If used batteries are mixed with household garbage in landfills, or discarded, the mercury and heavy metals that seep out will penetrate into the soil, pollute groundwater, and then enter fish and crops, destroying the human living environment and indirectly threatening human health. Health tip: When you replace the battery, you can buy environmentally friendly batteries that do not contain cadmium and mercury (with the NOMERCURY/CADMIUM or MERCURY & CADMIUM FREE logo, some are MERCURY logo).

Let’s keep 10 good saving habits!

  1. Unplug the charger in time after charging to reduce the waste of electricity.
  2. Use energy-saving lamps, and set the air conditioner to 26 degrees Celsius in summer, which can greatly save energy.
  3. Use convenient and environmentally friendly tableware to bring your own lunch, not disposable tableware.
  4. Turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth, even if it is a water drop, it can leak a ton of water in 10 days.
  5. Use your own grocery basket or cloth bag for grocery shopping, a disposable plastic bag takes 600 years to decay.
  6. Use more environmentally friendly straws, such as paper straws instead of plastic straws. Plastic straws are one of the most difficult to degrade tiny items in the ocean.
  7. Use more microwave ovens to heat and cook food, using electricity is less polluting than gas and saves more money.
  8. Printed A4 paper, used once can be reused. Reduce the felling of trees.
  9. Use biodegradable and less-used detergents to reduce the pollution of rivers and oceans.
  10. Carry your own water cup, whether you go out or work, for convenience and hygiene.
