How to take care of a child’s hair

Kids’ hair changes completely every other year they grow. While babies, it is not unusual for their hair to be very little, but by the time you know it, kids’ hair will have become unmanageable and thick.

Knowing adequate care for your child’s hair to grow healthy and strong is a good idea.

Another point that should not be overlooked is that you will introduce your child to the best hair care practices from an early age. These skills will be extremely useful for girls.

Hair is not just a part of us; it gives us attractiveness and beauty and is also related to hygiene, which children should learn early. In today’s article, we will talk about some simple recommendations for child hair care.

Using a good hair brush is a must

Often, long hair gets tangled and is difficult to comb. Brushing the hair several times a day is important for stimulating hair growth and better blood circulation in the scalp, so using the right hairbrush or a comb is essential.

It is best to use a hairbrush specially made for kids, as their hair is difficult for adults’ hair. Kids’ hair brushes have specially designed bristles that easily brush wet and dry hair without damaging it. This brush fits well in hand and stands out with its beautiful design, making them more attractive to kids and making the hair-brushing process more enjoyable, as many kids hate it.

We have discovered a brand called The Knot Doctor, which says it all. They have high-quality kids’ hair brushes that are gentle to kids’ hair and specially designed to keep the knots away. The brush we liked, called Knotty Kids, is suitable for wet and dry hair and can be used on all hair types.

Nutrition as a way to strengthen the child’s hair

As you know, children need a well-balanced menu rich in vitamins and proteins. What are the nutrients most important for hair growth?

Vitamin B (biotin) is key to stimulating hair growth and is especially important for younger children. And although a person’s hair is a matter of genes, it is important to eat healthily and take care of its growth. Therefore, do not forget to include the following foods in the child’s menu.

  • Eggs
  • Avocado
  • Raspberries
  • Salmon
  • Bananas
  • Tomatoes
  • Walnuts
  • Seed bread

How often do you shower kids’ hair?

There is no point in washing the child’s hair every day, as this will get dry. Ideally, wash your child’s hair two to three times a week.

Of course, the frequency also depends on the activity of the child. If it practises sports or sweats a lot, it is recommended to bathe it more often. And remember that hair products that are hypoallergenic are best for the child, and they maintain the healthy pH balance of the child’s hair.

Do not use curling irons or hair dryers at too high a temperature

It’s perfectly normal to feel like curling your child’s hair for a birthday or other event. However, avoiding aggressive accessories or products such as straighteners, hair dryers, hair dyes, and finishing sprays is recommended. Instead, focus on natural and healthy alternatives.

The sooner you teach your child to practise good habits. The healthier and more beautiful his hair will be. Also, remember that before the child goes to bed, it is good to brush and detangle the hair carefully. Always remove elastics or other hair accessories.

Products to use to help detangle the hair

  • Coconut oil

The benefits of coconut oil for human health and beauty are countless. One of its most valuable properties is that it is an excellent conditioner. A few drops of coconut oil are all it takes. Put it in the palm of your hand and apply them to the child’s hair. Spread the oil from the roots to the ends. Then use a wide wooden hairbrush to detangle the knots.

  • Warm water and conditioner

Another helpful tip for which you need a spray bottle. Pour some slightly warm water into a spray bottle and mix it with the usual conditioner you use. Shake well and spray the child’s hair. You will be amazed how easily you will brush the child’s hair.

  • Apple cider vinegar

Natural remedy with apple cider vinegar once a week: for this, you will need 100 ml. water and 25 ml. apple cider vinegar. Pour them into a spray bottle. Then apply the product to damp hair. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse your child’s hair with the usual shampoo you use. You will be amazed at how shiny and healthy their hair will look.

Final thoughts,

We should be extremely careful with our kid’s hair, especially before puberty, as it is thinner and more fragile. It is also good to build healthy habits in our children that they will get used to and apply when they get older.
