How can I crack NEET in a short time?

When it comes to medical aspirants in India, the National Eligibility and Entrance Test is the first hurdle to overcome. It is a nationwide medical entrance exam for medical students seeking admission to undergraduate medical courses at various private and government institutes in India. NEET has undergone several transformations over the years. With the ever-increasing participation in NEET, passing the exam is becoming increasingly difficult.

The National Testing Agency organizes and facilitates NEET (NTA). In addition to diligent hard work, passing the medical exam necessitates a combination of the appropriate strategies and skills. NEET aspirants must ensure that their preparation is focused in the right direction in order to pass the NEET with a high score. Candidates can learn how to crack NEET by following the important NEET preparation tips listed below.

TIPS TO CRACK NEET IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME

  1. Syllabus– The NEET Exam has a comprehensive syllabus. It is divided into 97 chapters. Even before beginning to prepare for the NEET, aspirants must have a thorough understanding of the NEET 2021 syllabus. The NEET syllabus and the board syllabus must be correlated. It can save time because you won’t have to prepare solely for the common syllabus in both exams. Thus, the extra time can be used to learn and understand chapters that are not covered in the board exam but are covered in the NEET. It should also be noted that important chapters must be prioritized and given as much attention as possible.
  1. Understand the Exam pattern properly- Before you begin preparing, make sure you understand the NEET exam pattern. The NEET question paper contains 45 questions from the Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology sections, with each question worth 4 marks. This medical exam has a total score of 720 and was conducted in offline mode for 180 minutes (3 hours). It is a question-and-answer test with a negative marking scheme in which 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response.
  1. Study material- Books, or study material, are the most important component in preparing for any exam. Candidates must ensure that they choose the best and most appropriate combination of books to prepare for the NEET. You may be studying hard, but if you are not studying from the right source, your efforts will be futile. NCERT is the best and holy grail of NEET preparation. It is estimated that 75-80 per cent of the questions in NEET are derived from NCERT sources. In addition, to cover the remaining 20-25 per cent, students must refer to NEET-related books and practise from them in order to achieve a good rank.
  1. Previous years papers: Important to be done– NEET sample papers and previous years’ NEET question papers are the best tools for preparing for NEET. Answering NEET test series and question papers provides a clear understanding of the exam pattern, question pattern, chapter-wise weightage, and the complexity of the questions from each of the four sections of NEET. Furthermore, practising from question papers boosts confidence and improves analytical abilities. To improve and have a well-practised hand, try to solve one NEET question paper per day. The students should definitely check the NEET 2020 Question Paper.
  1. Managing time- The time limit in the NEET Exam is the most difficult obstacle an aspirant faces in the exam hall. Its consequences can be debilitating. The NEET exam lasts three hours and consists of 180 questions. In other words, a student has approximately one minute to answer one question. As a result, a good sense of time is essential, especially when it comes to competitive exams. As a result, aspirants are frequently advised to take mock tests/question papers in the ideal exam scenario with a 3-hour time frame.
  1. Make a List of Everything- Notes preparation is frequently an undervalued and thus overlooked practice. Preparing notes for NEET preparation, on the other hand, provides reassurance that all the important topics have been covered and are readily available. These notes are extremely useful for last-minute studies and other purposes. It is common to see students doing revisions from their notes before exams. Ensure that the notes are concise and that the NCERT terminologies are not changed.
  1. Concentrate on the weaker sections- Every student has both strengths and weaknesses.

Master your strong points while doubling down on your weak points. To improve in the weaker areas, one should solve as many samples and previous year’s question papers as possible, as well as take as many mock tests as possible. It is the most efficient and beneficial method. Seek the assistance of teachers and mentors to strengthen weak areas.

  1. Allow for Short Study Breaks- One cannot maintain the same level of concentration and attention span throughout. It is essential to take breaks in between the long study hours. During your break, you could go for a walk, play your favourite game, or have a quick conversation. It is advised to avoid social media interactions.
  1. Focusing on health too- The most important aspect for any being is to stay healthy. When it comes to a student’s life, having a healthy lifestyle becomes even more important. It is quintessential to take care of one’s physical and mental health. A healthy diet, an active lifestyle, and adequate sleep must all be addressed.
  1. Guessing is not at all encouraged- Furthermore, because NEET employs a negative marking scheme, candidates must avoid any form of guesswork. One mark is reduced for each incorrect response. If the answer to the question is unknown, it is recommended that you skip the question. Simply guessing will result in a loss of marks.

CONCLUSION

  • Due to time constraints, it is necessary to multitask while preparing. Revisiting the topics on the next day of preparation is a good way to boost confidence.
  • Because we can’t draw boundaries for the board, students must be thorough with all aspects of the chapters. Choose the most difficult parts of each chapter and devote at least 20 minutes to mastering them.
  • The three-hour NEET exam necessitates a lot of effort. Familiarize yourself with the exam format and make an effort to focus. To improve one’s exam performance, take more than three full-length mock tests.
