6 Ways To Sell Your Car Quickly And Easily

Selling your car can be a hassle no matter what, so looking for tips that make it easier and quicker makes sense. There are a number of things you can do to make getting rid of your car relatively pain-free whilst still making money. Check out our tips below to get the wheels rolling on your sale!

  1. Make Sure You Have All Of The Right Documentation

Your car will sell for more if you have all of the necessary paperwork to prove its condition and MOT. You can get a car history check online to show your buyers what a great little runner you have so they feel safe in their purchase.

  1. Repair Minor Damage

If your exterior has a few nicks and blemishes here and there from minor accidents or scrapes, try and fix them up before you put it on the market. Buff out any small scratches with some scratch removal product and use a cloth to buff in small circular movements. Don’t rub too hard as you don’t want to cause any more damage to the paintwork. Ease out any small dents or dings with a dent suction cup, or if you want to go full DIY, add boiling water to the surface and use a plunger to ease the dent out. Making the outside look as good as possible will result in a little more cash for your car.

  1. Price Fairly

Take stock of your vehicle as a whole and price it realistically and fairly. You may like your set of wheels, but be totally honest about what it’s worth when setting the cost. If it needs some work then account for that when you’re working out what it’s worth. If it’s an older model and you don’t have a recent MOT then accept the next buyer may need to do a little work and account for that in your price.

  1. Clean The Inside

Making sure the inside of your vehicle is clean and looking fresh will do wonders for a faster sale. Buyers will look for seats that are stain-free, and interiors that aren’t heavily marked or scratched. It’s often easier to seek out a professional valet service for a total clean without breaking the bank.

  1. Allow Test Drives

If you have interest in your car then allow potential buyers to take your car for a test drive. This will allow buyers to get a feel for the car and if the vehicle is up to scratch it will likely cinch the sale.

  1. Opt For Sold As Seen

The safest option for a non-professional sale is to sell ‘as seen’. This means that the buyer can’t return the car or pin any issues on you further down the line and you will be protected. If you are selling the car in good faith this is a good option as it means you can avoid any unscrupulous buyers causing hassle later down the line.
