5 Winter Date Night Ideas At Home

When it comes to Winter, it is the perfect time to do some great activities with your significant other, such as ice skating and even having a snowball fight!

There is something so romantic about even taking a nice walk around the park in the snow. However, not everyone is a fan of the cold weather, so sometimes it’s best to take your date ideas indoors into the safety of your home, where you know you’ll be warm.

Although sometimes things can get boring when you’re stuck at home, particularly since there aren’t many homes that have indoor rock climbing to keep your excitement levels up, the times when you actively choose to stay home can often feel the best.

The following is a list of some home winter date ideas for when you’re happy to stay home.

Surprise Each Other With Some Nice Alcohol

Winter usually means that the holidays are just around the corner, and what perfect time to take advantage of the great Christmas deals on festive alcohol than now?

Why not have a night where you each buy a bottle of wine or some artisan bottles of beer that you could surprise your significant other with? It is a surefire way to keep yourself warm and away from the cold weather.

There can be something so nice and intimate about getting a nice bottle of wine and spending hours talking with your partner on the sofa. Sometimes, the simplest ideas can work out to be the nicest.

Plus, trying a new bottle of something will give you something to discuss. Whether you’ve picked a winning tasting bottle or a bottle of something you won’t hurry to try in a while!

Have A Big Board Game Night

A great idea is to get into the competitive spirit and play board games with your partner. From childhood classics like Monopoly to even more modern games like Hungry Hippos, there will be plenty of games to choose from.

By playing board games together, you can get a great opportunity to show your significant other what games you grew up playing and vice versa, which can be a great way to get to know each other more.

Your game night does not strictly have to be analogue; why not play some video games together if you have access to a PlayStation, Xbox or computer?

If you happen to be in a relationship where one partner is into gaming, and the other is not, this can be the perfect opportunity to learn more about gaming. After all, video games can be great fun.

Time To Bring Your Inner Baker Out

Winter is the perfect time to get your baking skills up to scratch, particularly with the usual fun Christmas baking that most families do yearly. Everyone can remember eating those special Christmas cookies that your mum would always make at that time of year!

So why not do some baking with your partner; there are countless recipes to choose from for all skill levels. Plus, plenty of recipes do not require fancy equipment to make something delicious, so you won’t ever get frustrated and give up.

After all, if all else fails, you could buy some pre-packaged gingerbread houses to spend time decorating. You’ll have a lot of fun decorating without having to go through making any of the baking elements!

Try A Cooking Class At Home

If baking is not for you, how about doing a cooking class at home? Given the access to video recipes, why not pick something you and your partner love and attempt to make it from scratch?

Meals often require many separate elements, so you could split up the tasks to create your perfect meal together.

This can add excitement to those long nights, with the promise of having something amazing to eat at the end of your cooking.

Winter Film Marathon

For a reason, this idea is a classic; after all, who doesn’t love snuggling down on the sofa with some hot chocolate and watching those classic winter holiday films?

Although Christmas and Winter related films are always available to play during this time of the year, your film marathon could lead to a fantasy series that spans several movies. A few that immediately come to mind are Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter.

Whatever your film-watching preference, it could be that you would both love to watch a comedy show instead and make a pillow and blanket den for when you do so. It means you’ll both be nice and cosy for a romantic time in front of the screen.
