We can all agree that WoW has been around forever. The nostalgic dungeons, all the moments with friends, rage, happiness, looks like everything has been experienced in WoW. So Blizzard over time has released new updates, dungeons while introducing us to new bosses and game mechanics. With each new release, harder and harder bosses were added to the game making the players think more and be more strategic about their approach towards defeating the new boss. With the Sepulcher of the First Ones being at our doorstep and people looking forward to normal, heroic runs and a Sepulcher of the First Ones Heroic boost, let’s take a look back at the top 5 hardest bosses in WoW!
5. The Lich King
With the release of the Lich King in the Wraith of the Lich King expansion back in 2010, a lot of players and guilds alike saw difficulties in defeating this boss. Being the final boss of Icecrown Citadel, the Lich King required a lot of time and planned out strategies for players to defeat him. Each and every class is tested for its capabilities requiring the members of the raid to react rather quickly and precisely to all the abilities. Although the heroic run was difficult enough, Saronite Bombs were used to go around a fight mechanic that the Lich King presented. A lot of guilds used this strategy until eventually, Blizzard patched it up thus making the teams and guilds reinvent their strategies for defeating the Lich King.
4. Yogg’Saron
The Wraith of the Lich King expansion introduced us to a lot of new hard bosses and game mechanics. Following up on it, we have the boss Yogg-Saron. Yogg’Saron’s first appearance can be seen back in the Ulduar raid, serving as the final boss of it. Yogg’Saron has proven to be a tough challenge, exceptionally on the hardest difficulty, having required over 500+ attempts to defeat him. The raid had been made for the players to gain buffs and help from the keepers which were NPC’s who could be summoned to help out the players in defeating Yogg’Saron. Although this made the battle easier, some guilds chose not to summon these keepers so they can get the toughest difficulty out of Yogg’Saron.
3. Jaina Proudmoore
Besides The Wraith of the Lich King, we have to take a look at other expansions for hard bosses too. The next expansion we will take a look at is the Battle for Azeroth expansion, and if you are more of an old-school player you would have seen it from a mile back that the 3rd hardest boss for this list is Jaina Proudmoore in the Battle of Dazar’Alor raid. Unlike the other bosses bombarding you with tons of mechanics to constantly take care of, Jana Proudmoore is presented with one hard mechanic, which is the Chilling Touch. The Chilling Touch is a debuff that stacks upon itself, slowing the player by 2% for each stack, meaning that at 100 stacks the player just sits there frozen to the brim. With 346 attempts on its back, and some guilds going to the extreme of changing their race to trolls because of a race passive, we can see why Jaina Proudmoore proved to be such a tough challenge.
2. Uu’nat
Continuing upon the Battle for Azeroth expansion, we have to note that our second to last hardest boss is Uu’nat from the Crucible of Storms raid. Uu’nat is fought in 3 stages, each presenting a harder ordeal from the last. Though the hardest mechanic to overcome in this boss fight was Unstable Resonance. Unstable Resonance was an instant ability affecting more than half the players, which made the teammates steer clear of each other who had different resonance types. If the Unstable Resonance ability is activated due to two players touching each other with a different debuff, then a lethal explosion surrounding 10 yards would incur. Sitting at 731 attempts, Uu’nat proved to be one of the toughest challenges the WoW community has ever seen.
1. Kil’Jaedan
The number 1 of the hardest bosses on our list will have to be Kil’Jaedan from the Legion Expansion. With him as the final boss of the Tomb of Sargeras, he was first introduced as a really buggy boss, posing a much bigger threat in WoW. We can see what plusses being an eredar demon lord brings to the table! Kil’Jaedan dealt a lot of damage with his bugged abilities, such as “Erupting Blaze” which dealt damage to the players who were not even hit by the ability. This meant that guilds and teams with improper healing had a lot of tough times defeating Kil’Jaedan. After Blizzard’s continuous bug fixes, Kil’Jaedan was defeated. Sitting at 654 attempts, we can see why the frustrations of the WoW community with Kil’Jaedan even existed in the first place!
