The use of talismans dates back to ancient times in the Middle East. In the ancient persian traditions, there was belief in objects and jewelry as magical protection and powerful spells. For example, the ancient ruler Cyrus The Great would wear on his head a golden crown called “Golden Lotus”. The idea of Islamic talismans goes back to the earliest days of Islam in 7th century AD.
Taweez are powerful Islamic amulets that help bring good luck into a person’s life and protect them against evil, sickness, evil eye and curses, assist during surgery or medical treatments and provide a sort of peace by connecting one with Allah’s unseen blessings from afar. They can be found all over the world, including Iran, Yemen and Morocco. They are made out of a wide range of materials such as papyrus, myrrh, silver woven cords, and musk. Islamic talismans-taweez have typically been worn on a piece of cloth or chain; however, these days taweez are also being made into modern accessories for jewelry, plates and stamping.
According to Islamic scholars, taweez may have originated in Iran over time as a result of cultural or religious interactions between Islam and ancient Iranian conditions; old persian traditions including Zoroastrianism, Babylonian and Assyrian, that might have been in existence before Islam.
Taweez have grown in popularity over the centuries. They are used by both individuals and businesses across different fields of work. Taweez are quite popular even today because they are inexpensive, easy-to-find, and open to various interpretations. In old persian traditions, taweez were widely hunted to give an enchanting quality. If a person owns one it would reflect in his/ her status. A country’s ruler could easily win the hearts of people by using these charms.
In order to have “perpetual success” in life you should wear some Islamic talismans just like a certain era of Persian kings had done for centuries. Consequently, today many people are attracted by the memories associated with these talismans. The Islamic community is satisfied with such people nowadays because they wear the talismans religiously so they can keep their business safe from ruin.
Taweez originated in agamic traditions in pre-islamic Persia, later becoming a synonym for “totem” or “perpetual object.” In Shia Islam, it is considered an object from God that must be worn on the person’s body to protect them from danger until their death and after making ablution wudhu (washing ritual) if available.
