Both banks and jewellery shops promote and market their gold plans and designs aggressively with offers and discounts during this period. The demand for gold increases every year during Akshaya Tritiya, in which people work hard to secure their future.

Indian Sentiment On Gold

Besides being considered an investment, asset and long-term value, it is perceived as a status of wealth and luxury. It is a popular metal for making jewellery and showcases more power when someone owns it. Furthermore, there is a myth that gold, when worn, will bestow good health and prosperity throughout the individual’s lifetime. There is also a sentiment attached to gold jewellery; it reinforces closeness in relationships, thereby elevating their emotional quotient positively. Indians also consider giving gold coins of small denominations, which is often thought of as high esteem.
