Shavkat Mirziyoyev was born on 24th July 1957 in Jizzakh. He worked as a junior research fellow from Tashkent Institute of Engineers of Irrigation and Mechanization of Agriculture. He also got promoted to work as associate professor at the same University after working as senior lecturer in academic affairs. He has received several national and international awards for his contribution to politics. His national award list includes Fidokorona xizmatlari uchun and Mehnat shuhrati. Political career:
The political career of Mirziyoyev began in the 1980s after he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He was appointed as a deputy of the Soviet Union in the 1990s at Uzbek. After that he also worked as governor in the Jizzakh Region from 1996 to 2001. It took him two years to become the prime minister of the Uzbek parliament by replacing Oʻtkir Sultonov. In that time, his collaboration with South Korean countries has resulted in huge employment opportunities for the citizens of Uzbekistan. Mirziyoyev: As a President
After the death of the president Karimov, Mirziyoyev became the president in 2016. The Liberal Democratic Party grabbed 88.6% of the vote and appointed Mirziyoyev as the president of Uzbekistan. Again, Mirziyoyev was re-elected and won the 2021 presidential election with 80.3% of the vote. He was again re-elected with 87.7% of vote in the 2023 election with O’zLiDeP backing and became the president for the third time. He was the only man in political history to be appointed as both prime minister and president in his political career for so long.
Economic and Political Revolution:
He brought liberal reform in the political and economic sector by collaboration with other countries. He also worked on improving relations with central Asian countries and released political prisoners for nation’s development. His decision to capital punishment and protection of human rights in 2021 has brought a revolution among the previous constitutional rules. He also removed semi-autonomous Karakalpakstan’s right to secession, which resulted in deadly unrest in the region.
