Nvidia Omniverse Enterprisewheatleysiliconangle – Lightlytics, the company that just closed a $26M Series A led by EIP, is trying to make your life as an IT administrator easier. The San Francisco-headquartered startup, founded by CEO Neal O’Connor in 2014, makes SaaS tools to help companies model cloud infrastructure and automate various tasks in order to save time and money.

The company has already closed two previous funding rounds, bringing its total funding to $41M, but it’s still hoping to expand its reach in the enterprise space. The new round was led by EIP with participation from existing investors Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), Scale Venture Partners (SVP), SV Angel, 500 Startups and Aileen Lee of Cowboy Ventures. This new funding will go toward international expansion, product development and the hiring of more employees.

O’Connor told TechCrunch that he started the company because he felt a “huge gap between the way that we build software and the way we build physical infrastructure.” In his mind, DevOps is still an emerging field in Silicon Valley, with a lot of room for improvement. This is why Lightlytics’s cloud-based software makes it easier for DevOps engineers to automate tasks and save both time and money.

“We were able to go from complex systems that could take months to build, to being able to write a few lines of code, completely automated, in a few hours or days,” O’Connor said. According to the CEO, companies can save around 20 percent on their bottom line by using Lightlytics’s tools.

Built on top of Amazon Web Services, Lightlytics is available as a paid service or as a free hosted version. The paid subscription gets you access to more than 4,000 nodes and over 1,000 APIs. The hosted version is based on Elasticsearch, a keyword search engine for storing structured data (such as logs and logs together with other structured data), and Google Kubernetes Engine, which leverages open source tools from Google (Kubernetes) to automate deploying container-based applications to the cloud.

Lightlytics’s software is designed to help companies run their cloud infrastructure more efficiently. You can easily build complex applications as well as automate repetitive tasks — all via an intuitive drag and drop interface. O’Connor said that companies are using Lightlytics “to build applications that are highly performant, resilient and scalable, at a lower cost than existing models like AWS.”

“A lot of the things we build are done by DevOps teams at large enterprises, and we’re working towards building a repeatable model that can help scale that to other enterprises.”

O’Connor said that Lightlytics has started generating revenue in the same way as many other startups — via its hosted service. The company also recently launched a new product called Productive Team, which allows teams to collaborate on the creation of the most efficient solutions.

“We want to be an enterprise-grade software solution that can run on a variety of platforms, and we want to help build entire IT organizations at large enterprises,” he said. Sounds like an ambitious mission for a company that has only been around for three years.

Lightlytics is also planning to start expanding internationally going forward. The company recently hired Julie Yeart, who previously led Amazon’s Alexa and QuikView teams, as its new General Manager of International Markets.

“It’s been about six months since I started at Lightlytics and we’ve just started to see traction in the market. We’re starting to see a lot of companies in the U.S., but we think that the U.S. is going to be our biggest market, followed by Europe and Asia Pacific,” Yeart said. The countries that Lightlytics is focusing on are based primarily on existing partnerships with large enterprises as well as potential business relationships with smaller companies.
