Manaslu Circuit Trek in Different Seasons

The stunning and well-known Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal offers unmatched natural and cultural beauty. One of the hardest treks in Nepal is the Manaslu Circuit trek.

Manaslu Circuit trip, which was first accessible to outsiders in 1993, has grown in popularity to the point where it is now feasible to complete a teahouse-based trip without the need to pitch up a tent.

Manaslu Circuit Trekking is available throughout the year, depending on your schedule and preferences. However, spring and fall are the greatest times of year to complete this amazing hike.
Trekking Manaslu in the winter or the monsoon is not impossible, but it will be much more difficult because of the severe weather in both seasons. But, if you prepare well, you should have no trouble selecting and scheduling this walk at different times of year.

Continue reading, and if the information below isn’t helping you decide whether to do the Manaslu Trek in different seasons, please contact us and we’ll assist you with your planning.
Thus, read on to find out the optimum time to trek to Manaslu and whether it’s feasible to go in the rare months of January or July.

Manaslu Circuit trek in different seasons

In Spring

March through May is when spring arrives. It’s a prime time of year. Trekking is ideal when the sky clears and the temperature is between warm and moderate.

The national flower of Nepal, rhododendron blooms, together with an assortment of vibrant flowers provide for a delightful walk.
Winter gives way to spring. As a result, before starting the walk, make sure you have the most recent information as lodges may close for the winter or may not have opened by early March.

Nonetheless, the weather is pleasant, with neither extremes of heat or cold experienced at different elevations.

The temperature starts to climb in April, yet the rhododendrons are in full bloom at this time. Even in spring, early to mid-April has to be the finest period.

May is still the busiest month. The only drawback is that the lower areas can get very hot, and haze can make it difficult to see the mountains. This, however, is insufficient justification for you to skip the Manaslu Circuit Trek if you happen to visit in May.

Compared to fall, spring is thought to be the second-best time of year to trek in Nepal because it is less congested. So I would argue that spring is the best season for individuals who want a more sedate getaway.

In Monsoon

The monsoon is lovely. Beautiful flowers and verdant woodlands welcome you. On the other hand, rain can cause some issues. For example, landslide hazards, leeches, slick trails, and ominous clouds that can obstruct breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

In Nepal, the monsoon season lasts from mid-June through August. You might catch a peek of the gorgeous mountains in the early morning hours if you don’t mind the rain that could fall at any moment. This is in the first week of June.
It rains a lot in July. It might pour rain for days on end. Landslides also happen at this period. Monsoon might choose to linger into early September. These days, the weather can be a little unexpected.

However, you may take in the surroundings at this time of year, with their vibrant green blooms and crisp weather. If you want to explore the developing environment in a pristine setting, now is the ideal time to hike the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek. Furthermore, the breathtaking vistas of the terraced paddy fields at lower altitudes are very alluring.

In Autumn

The ideal season to hike the Manaslu Circuit is in the fall. In comparison to the Everest Base Camp Trek or the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, it is also the most congested, though still not as bad.

September, October, and November are the seasons of autumn. September’s first two weeks could still see some rain. There may be light clouds cruising the sky. If you can, visit in October and November.

Both clouds and rain are absent. In October, the trees are covered in oranges and the paddies become golden.  November is also the ideal month; the air gets drier and cleaner as the weather cools off towards the end of the month.

In Winter

Winter brings out the best in the mountains and creates the most beautiful blue sky. Higher altitude winters are brutally cold, nevertheless. You therefore need to be outfitted and well-prepared.

When it’s cold outside and there is a lot of snow, tea houses may close, so you might have trouble obtaining accommodations for the night. Therefore, learning in advance about the tea houses along the road is always a smart idea.

Carrying additional clothing and camping equipment is essential, but it will be useless if ice and snowfall render Larkya La Pass unusable. You should consider the prospect of having to retrace your steps.
If this is your first trek, we advise against choosing it. Particularly during the winter and monsoon, when the climate is harsh and you have to use caution when walking.

Therefore, if you’re just starting out, you should go for shorter treks in Nepal, such as the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek, the Chisapani-Nagarkot Trek, the Siklesh Trek, and so on.

Alternatively, to avoid the severe weather along the trek route, you can hike to areas that are covered in rain, such as the Upper Mustang and Muktinath treks.
Regardless of the season, the 12 Days Manaslu Circuit Trek is unquestionably one of the most rewarding treks in Nepal.

All of your hard effort will be rewarded by its diverse wildlife, lush vegetation, traditional Hindu and Buddhist communities, and stunning landscape. It would be best not to push oneself throughout the winter. Happy hiking!
