Is Cape Town Safe To Travel?

Cape Town is a South African city that is known for its natural splendors and mountainous sights that date back to more than six centuries ago. It has superbly white beaches, and it’s ranked as the prettiest city in South Africa. Besides that, Cape Town has a cultural and creative population, with amazing world-class art and wines. The small bar and the varied scenes that the city offers qualify it as one of the coolest cities globally.

Cape Town is quite a safe place for anyone to travel, either alone or with others. However, you have to use your common sense in many instances. Use branded taxis such as Ubers or you can choose to book private transportation from the airport to your hotel. You shouldn’t always visit townships, unless you are in the company of locals who are known to you or reputable tour operators.

Why it’s known as the mother city

This town was first established by the Dutch in 1962 and by 1930, it was the only city in South Africa to have a metropolitan status. The residents seem not to be in a hurry, and in most instances, people joke that it would take up to 9 months for a task to be completed.

How is the weather?

The winters are relatively cold and temperatures would go down to about 12 degrees, with December to April being the peak season. There are notable historical events that have happened here, for instance, the first heart transplant that was successfully done in Cape Town in 1967. During summer, there will be lots of wind flowing through the entire town, and during this time, a blanket mist is created over the nearby mountain, which is popularly known by the locals as a tablecloth.

You can be sure there will be a lot to learn in that highly revered museum.
