Here’s Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About ESR Wheels But Never Had the Time!

For several years now, there has been a lot of confusion among aftermarket rim enthusiasts when it came to ESR Wheels.

It is completely true that the company first made a name for themselves as a rep wheels manufacturer. Rep, short for ‘replica’ are wheels which are essentially full-fledged copies of OEM wheels which arrive with any car exiting the factory.

Over nearly a decade of existence (the company was formed in 2014), ESR has made some serious strides in its technology and branding efforts. It is no longer the company that manufactured car rims for sale for every occasion. By all accounts, the company has rebranded itself and is now a major player.

Did you know that the company manufactures even Tesla Wheels and they are being well-received by people who drive these high-end Electric Vehicles.

What changed?

Here are some facts about ESR Wheels you probably did not know.

Where are the wheels manufactured?

All genuine ESR Wheels are manufactured in the United States of America. Like a number of its competitors, ESR too has its manufacturing unit in Southern California. It proudly carries the ‘Made in the USA’ tag. There are some misconceptions that some of their 1-piece and 2-piece models are conjured up in China.

But that is a false narrative and is probably a piece of disinformation planted by rivals. All original rims are made only in the USA.

This means that the company gives more jobs to Americans and has joined the ‘Make in the USA’ movement.

By sourcing materials from local units, the company is scheduled to join other famous wheel brands like Fuel Wheels and ensure that it can be cost-effective and competitive at the same time.

How is ESR Wheels rebranding itself?

There are several ways of rebranding any company can undertake and ESR has decided to up the ante on the manufacturing angle. ESR has decided that it will slowly reduce the number of rep wheels it generally manufactures.

Instead, it will come up with more cast car rims for sale. It has also decided to work on more multi-piece rims which will place it right at the top with some of the best companies in the market.

Multi-piece wheels are always in high demand and the company knows that pretty well. It is planning to roll out several more models which will have a tinge of vintage rims in them. As you know, vintage looks are back in business yet again. Many companies are going back to manufacturing wheels that seem straight out of a ‘60s muscle car commercial!

Besides, ESR Wheels is offering a series of flow forged rims at low prices when compared to Monoblock forged rims and this is a huge competitive advantage.

The company has also tied up with several smaller businesses to ensure that its supply chain remains unbeaten and people receive their wheels regularly and without any delay whatsoever.

What is the future of ESR Wheels?

According to multiple well-placed sources in the automotive industry and a few who work in this company, ESR is currently having a very good business value across the North American markets. It is also planning to touch a few more major markets around the world as well.

Here’s what you can expect:

  1. A lot more Radial Forged Technology at work. This uses a special rotary forging technique which gives an unusual amount of power and durability to the wheels. ESR is one of the handful of companies in this niche to use this breakthrough technology and the consumers stand to benefit.
  2. It is reasonable to expect that the company will set up one or more manufacturing units to keep up with the demand and ensure that the quality is maintained at all levels without any compromise. Its designation as a manufacturer of Tesla Wheels is certainly a dead giveaway that it is rethinking all existing branding efforts seriously.
  3. Like most major rivals, ESR Wheels also provides 1-year warranties on its wares. It also offers warranties on the paint jobs the wheels come with. The gamechanger might be a limited lifetime warranty on the most expensive wheels that the company manufactures.

There is no word on this end for obvious reasons but we did pick up a scent trail.

  • ESR will also up the price fight in several segments including 1-piece wheels for SUVs. This is a hotly contested segment and anybody who wins this one will have total market dominance.
  • Finally, we can expect a lot more company-owned outlets besides the standard 3rd-part ones. This will spread the word of newer models sooner than most other channels and will also help the company reach out to its core clientele in a way that is much more cost-effective.
