Cufflinks are almost essential for formal occasions, such as black tie events, especially when a french cuff shirt is required. They can also look great alongside your working week suits.
Having fun with your cufflinks is important as well, you can often get away with anything as they will be more than likely unnoticed by people around you, however there are times where a standard metal choice is the best option.
